Raków Częstochowa strengthens not only the sports staff, but also the organizational base. The club started cooperating with Marek Szkolnikowski, a well-known figure in the Polish media. The information was confirmed by the interested party himself, who should act as the managing director. This is a surprising move, because until now Szkolnikowski was associated primarily with television projects and content, and now he is entering the realities of the daily management of an Ekstraklasa club.
Who is Marek Szkolnikowski? The road from TVP Sport to working in the club
Szkolnikowski has been building his position on Polish Television for years. He has been associated with TVP Sport since 2008, and since 2016 he has been the station’s deputy director. In time, he took the most important position and ran the station as a director. He left TVP in 2023, and then sought new challenges in the field of sports and business.
One of the next stops was work at InPost, where he was responsible for sports sponsorship. However, this stage did not last long. Later, in September last year, Szkolnikowski became director of content and social media at Wesło. He announced the development of new formats and strong income in video productions, but this cooperation also ended earlier than it could have seemed.
Managing director of Raków: what is he supposed to be responsible for?
In recent months, there have been speculations that Szkolnikowski could join one of the clubs. In the end, the choice fell on Raków, which is not obvious to many observers, but at the same time consistent with the direction in which the Częstochowa project is going: strong sporting ambitions must be supported by an equally strong business base.
Szkolnikowski states that he wants to use the experience gained from the media and the commercial environment. In practice, this means focusing on areas such as marketing, developing sponsorship, making better use of club resources and increasing revenue. In the background, there is also the subject of improving the work organization and the daily functioning of the entire structure – elements that often determine the long-term stability of the club, even if they are not visible in the league table.
Raków focuses on development off the field
These types of nominations usually have one goal: to build a more “complete” club that is not based only on sporting results, but is able to earn money and develop the brand regardless of its current form. Raków has shown for years that he thinks strategically and consistently develops the project – now he is taking another step by bringing in a person with extensive experience in communication, content production and commercial cooperation.

Raków is the Polish champion from several seasons ago, and in the current competition is at the top of the Ekstraklasa. There are also other challenges: in the spring, the club will compete not only in the league, but also fight for the next stages in the Polish Cup and European cups. In such a system, the importance of organization, marketing and operational support increases – exactly the areas in which Szkolnikowski should bring “added value”.
If this move works, Raków can achieve not only a more efficient structure, but also a stronger commercial position. And in today’s football, this increasingly translates into a real sporting advantage.
