2025 Ulster Youth Road Championships Notice; SCHEDULE again


Banbridge CC Events Organizing Committee are pleased to advise that the Ulster Youth Road Championships have been rescheduled to take place later this month. After being postponed in August due to a conflict with the North West Youth Tour 2025 in the UK, the Ulster Youth Road Champ’s are now due to take place on Saturday 27th September. The event will be an “open” championship event meaning that young riders from outside Ulster are also welcome and encouraged to participate.

Catering for boys and girls Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16, there will be a Time Trial (TT) option promoted in the morning followed by Road Races in the afternoon. The TT will be the same course and distance for all categories, starting from the Event HQ in Annaclone for a straight run to the outskirts of the city of Banbridge over a total distance of 8km. The profile of the course can be seen here. The first rider will start at 10:01.

The Road Races will start from 12:30. Riders U14 & U16 will be the first to leave the Event HQ, riding together in neutral to the start/finish line on the traditional Annaclone GP circuit.

Under 12 riders will leave Event HQ at 12:40, neutral riding for approx. 1.5km until the marked starters are thrown to a rolling start. They will race for 7km, finishing at the famous Hawthorn Inn finish line. The course profile can be viewed here.

Under 16 riders will start their race at the Hawthorn Inn at approx. 13:15. They will complete 4 laps of the Annaclone GP circuit for a total distance of 50km.

The under 14 riders will be hit shortly after the U16’s in approx. 13:25. They will complete 2 laps of the same circuit, covering 25km.

All road races will use the same finish line.

All riders have the option to compete in either the TT, the road race, or both. One entry will cover both the TT and RR per rider.

All podium presentations will take place at event HQ, Annacloine GAA, following the conclusion of all races.

Prizes will be given to the best 3 riders in each category of the race, including those who notice the medal of the Ulster Championship, and only those who meet the eligibility criteria as established by CyclingUlster;[atawpremjijietlill-aqwa3rikkiebaf’kullkategorijata’ti;rijamadanakolluta’minjinnotalil-medaljital-Kampjonattal-Ulstersejing[atawbisslildawklijissodisfawil-kriterjita’eli;ibbiltàkifstabbilitiminnCyclingUlster;
CI License holders who meet one of the following criteria may compete in the Provincial Championships however, a rider may only compete in one set of Provincial Championships in any one season.
(a) Belonging to a club/team based in the Province;
(b) Unbound and resident in the Province;
(c) Residence in the Province;
(d) Belonging to a club/team based outside Ireland but,
1) The immediate past address was in the Province or
2) Most of the previous Irish club/team was based in the Province.
