Have you ever wondered what the beautiful world and characters of Game of Thrones would look like if they had been reimagined by Walt Disney studios? I mean, they would have to make some real adaptations for it to be accepted by Disney and its audience in the first place, but that’s beside the point. The Dornish men and women, the Northeners and Southeners, Wildings, wights, dragons… How would they look in the cartoonish and perfect world of Disney? Don’t worry, my sweet summer boy – artists Fernando Mendonça and Anderson Mahanski not only answered that question, but took us into the world of Westeros in the most innocent, playful and beautiful way imaginable. Below you will find their art as well as other artists, so get your bubbly and innocent inner child ready for some amazing new Disney characters that we will probably never see on the big screen or Walt Disney World.
Melisandre and Her Shadow (Goofy).
Here we see the beautiful Melisandre (who reminds me of Megara in Hercules) walking over her shadow baby, who had killed Renly Baratheon on the fateful night she gave birth to a demon. Totally inappropriate Disney, but you can’t deny that she would make an awesome villain in their universe.
Oberyn & The Mountain
This scene may play out as a silly game of “guess who’s behind you”, but we all know better.
Jon Snow & Ghost
A completely innocent moment between Jon Snow and his pet direwolf. One can only imagine what adventures they will get into. Well, poor squirrel.
Lord Varys
Spider and our favorite Spymaster (screw you, Littlefinger) looks at something as he hears one of his little birds. I wonder if they’ve been lying to him since Cersei took over and cleaned house in King’s Landing…
The Hound and Arya Stark
I can see this as the poster for the movie “F*ck the King – The Adventures of A Girl and The Hound”. Ending in 2018, rated R for mature language, gory images, and lewd content. I’m actually sad that it’s not a real thing.
Jaime Lannister & Brienne Of Tarth
A tale as old as time… Beauty and the Beast. Although Brienne is both beautiful and very muscular, calling her the Beast seems a little unfair. But let’s be honest, the early version of Jaime absolutely fits the bill as a diva. Maybe he should have been drawn as Gaston instead?
Cersei Lannister
Cersei would be a perfect Disney villain. Beautiful, intelligent, and gutsy, she puts most witches and evil queens to shame with her evil plans and dirty work.
Tyrion Lannister
Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to drink wine I go. He will be the Disney character that all children love – funny, a little unfortunate, smart, and cute. As long as they don’t include his sex addiction from previous seasons, it would be appropriate for Disney.
Hodor & Bran Stark
Here we have what should have happened with these two. Hodor and his happy soul and demeanor, and Bran Stark as a curious and innocent boy. Rest in peace, sweet giant.
The Night King (Frozen).
Let it go, let it go… The Night King looks a lot like Elsa in this picture. But it’s a good thing he doesn’t smile in the show, that’s a little creepy.
Daenerys, Drogon, Jon, & Ghost
This isn’t drawn by Fernando Mendonca, Anderson Mahanski, or Sam Tsui, but it’s still a great illustration. I wonder who that little dragon is, and why Dany is giving Jon the side eye.
Daenerys & Drogon
Looking a lot like Jasmine and Rajah, this illustration makes me want a Daenerys Disney movie right now. From her expression to the details on her clothes – they shaped her. Drogon, however, ate too many lambs.
Daenerys and her 3 dragons
Viserion, Rheagal, and Drogon remind us of the dragon that the wicked witch turns Milicent into in Single Beauty. Daeneys is channeling her inner Elsa in this picture as well, which could lead to a more serious Disney movie.
