This paper contributes to research on the role of technology in ‘atypical’ interaction by examining a situation in which technology takes the stigma of atypicality. Building on our analysis, we argue that this approach provides a model for the research and development of assistive technology that departs from a technology model and focuses on how to achieve the typical (and atypical).
