Ruch Chorzów does not intend to sleep during the winter. If the club really wants to improve its effectiveness in the spring, it needs to add a striker to the team who will immediately play the role of “numbers man”. After one of the previously considered directions was no longer valid, the inhabitants of Chorzów returned to connect the market and it seems that a new, rather non-obvious name appeared on the list: Andrij Remeniuk from Avia Świdnik.

Ruch Chorz transfers: the striker is a priority for the winter window

In Chorzów, there is open talk about the need to strengthen the offensive. In winter, there is usually no time for long-term acclimatization, so clubs are looking for “here and now” solutions: a player who can enter the penalty area, finish the action from half-chance and give the team an alternative in various match scenarios.

Several candidates have already appeared in the media, but one of the leads – which led to Tomasz Walczak – was ultimately not pursued. This means that the Movement must continue the search.

Andrij Remeniuk on Ruch Chorzów’s radar: who is he?

Remeniuk is a 26-year-old Ukrainian striker currently playing for Avia Świdnik in the third league. He is an important figure in his team and is one of the team’s best scorers. In the autumn, he played 22 games and scored 7 goals, which in this league is a solid result, although not great.

The main thing, however, is that Remeniuk had a longer and stable period at Avia. In total, since joining the club, he has made 52 appearances and 17 goals. This shows that he can maintain consistency and not have a good month.

Where did Avia come from? Transfer from Ukraine and club experience

The striker came to Świdnik last summer after leaving Metalist 1925 Kharkov. He also has several other Ukrainian clubs on his CV, which suggests that he knows different playing styles and environments: from more physical to those based on a faster attack. Such experience can be helpful when you need to find your way in Polish football, where intensity and fights in the penalty area often determine points.

Is a striker from the 3rd league a good idea for the 1st league?

This is a question that will naturally arise. Transfer “from below” has its advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages: the player is in the rhythm, he knows the realities of the Polish stadiums, he can be hungry for sports and financial advancement, and the price is generally lower than for players from the 1st league or Ekstraklasa.
Disadvantages: The level up can be brutal – less time to make decisions, better defensive organisation, more pressure and greater tactical requirements.

However, such a candidacy could make sense for Ruch if the club is looking for a sniper for the rotation or a player who provides different game characteristics than the current strikers.

Contract until the end of June: an important detail in the negotiations

An important piece of the puzzle is the contract. Remeniuk has a valid contract until June 30 of next year, so Avia does not have to sell him “at any price”, but at the same time, it may be ready to talk in the winter if a favorable offer appears. This is potentially good news for Ruch: negotiations are possible and the transfer amount should not be prohibitive.

The movement must decide if it is serious in this direction

Currently, it is a candidate from the “on the radar” category, and the winter window can change from day to day. If Ruch decides that Remeniuk agrees with the plan and is ready to jump to the first championship, the topic can quickly gain momentum. If not, it’s just another point in a long list of names.

One thing is certain: Ruch will need goals in the spring, and without a new “executor” it is difficult to count on achieving goals in the league calmly.
