Fredrik Lindgren did not finish the away match between Orlen Oil Motor Lublin and Fogo Unia Leszno after falling in the third heat. The Swede left the track in an ambulance, was taken to hospital, and tests confirmed a serious injury to his left leg. The club from Lublin announced that the player had already undergone surgery.

A dangerous fall during the match between Fogo Unia and Motor

The incident occurred in the third race of the PGE Ekstraliga meeting in Leszno. Lindgren followed Keynan Rew and tried to build speed on the outside of the track. However, the Australian widened the track, wanting to block his rival from attacking. As a result, the Swede found himself in a very difficult position, he hit the fence with his motorcycle and fell on the surface of the Alfred Smoczyk stadium.

The situation looked disturbing from the beginning. Medical help quickly arrived on the track, and the competitor complained of pain in his left leg and shoulder. Lindgren was unable to continue the competition and left the facility in an ambulance. He was taken to hospital, where he underwent detailed examinations to determine the extent of the injury.

Motor Lublin provided the diagnosis

On Monday, Orlen Oil Motor Lublin provided the most important information regarding the health of its player. The diagnosis confirmed a fracture of the lateral ankle of the left leg, as well as damage to the tibiofibular ligaments and ankle ligaments. It’s an injury that requires serious treatment, so Lindgren underwent surgery.

The procedure took place as planned. This is good news, although it does not change the fact that the Swede faces a difficult period of rehabilitation. In this type of injuries, it is crucial not only to heal the bones, but also to regain stability of the ankle joint, certainty of movement and full confidence in the leg. When will Lindgren return to the track?

For now, it is not known when Lindgren will be able to return to racing. The club announced that the player was to leave the hospital on Wednesday and start rehabilitation.
