Dominik Szala may soon leave Górnik Zabrze. The young defender was not included in the squad for the summer training camp and was allowed to look for a new club. Although the last few months have not been easy for him, there are still people who are convinced that the 20-year-old has a very interesting future ahead of him. Szala did not go with Górnik to the summer training camp, which clearly shows his current situation in the club. Zabrze does not prevent him from changing his surroundings, so the defender can look for a team where he will have a greater chance to play regularly.

Not long ago, he was considered one of the greatest talents in Poland, and in the spring of 2024, there was even information that he was of interest to the then coach of the Polish national team. He played for Stal 11 times, spending 949 minutes on the pitch. It may not have been a breakthrough season, but it gave him a chance to play more regularly and show that he can still compete at a high level. What is particularly important is that he left a good impression on the coach who had the opportunity to observe him closely.
Ireneusz Mamrot believes in the defender’s potential
Mamrot spoke very positively about Szala. The coach is convinced that the young stopper can make a great career. He appreciated, above all, his play in one-on-one duels, which is an extremely important feature in a central defender.
According to the coach, Szala is no longer a first-league level player. He must be ready to play in the Ekstraklasa and have skills that will allow him to cope in the top league. Such words may be important for clubs monitoring the player’s situation.
Śląsk Wrocław interested in Szala
One of the possible destinations for the defender is Śląsk Wrocław. Discussions regarding a loan with an option to buy are ongoing. Such a move could be beneficial to all parties. Górnik would retain control over the player’s future, Śląsk would gain a young stopper with potential, and Szala would get a chance to play more regularly.
For the 20-year-old, the most important thing now will be to find a club where he will receive trust and minutes. The talent is still there, but he needs stability after injuries and an inconsistent season. If he chooses the right place, he can still return to the path that was predicted for him a few years ago.
