The John Maxwell Cup TT was promoted last night (Wed 06/08) as part of the Banbridge Inter-Club Race League on a rolling 10 mile TT circuit. There was a strong attendance of 23 riders, particularly with the Ulster 10m TT Champ’s being promoted on the same evening and a number of competitors traveling to the regular Championship event.

Specialist triathlete Craig Harrison was the fastest rider on the night with a time of 23:17, beating previous championship winner Aaron Park by a scant 7 seconds. 3^rd fastest on the night was Brandon Douglas of Dromore CC. With handicaps applied to the John Maxwell it was Trevor Martin who came out on top by cutting over a minute off his target time, recording a current time of 28:21.^n.d place on HC, just 6 seconds away from the cup win.

With Mick Larkin taking his chances at the Ulster Champs and Mark Kendall out of action after a nasty bug sting (rumours of Mick recently taking up beekeeping still unproven!), neither rider picked up championship points. It means that the overall BCC League standings are closer than ever, with Mick now leading Mark by a certain 3 points at the very end just to 4 points. rounds.
