On April 17, Benin clinched qualification with a stunning 4-0 win over Burkina Faso (after losing 1-3 in the first leg). Sierra Leone pulled off a major upset by eliminating Côte d’Ivoire (0-0 and 2-1).

April 18 was packed with action, as Ghana and Cameroon delivered dominant performances against Togo and Algeria respectively. Senegal also overcame Tunisia (1-1 in the first leg, 2-1 in the second leg).
