Cracovia does not stop changes in the training staff. After hiring Bartosz Grzelak, the Krakow club hired another coach with experience in the Ekstraklasa. Grzegorz Mokry, who recently worked for Legia Warszawa, joined the team. This is a move that is intended to strengthen the Pasy’s coaching staff at a key moment in the fight for relegation.

At Kałuża, the structure around the first team is clearly being reorganized. Cracovia is in a difficult situation, so the club decided that a change in the position of the first coach alone may not be enough. It is also necessary to expand the staff with people who know the league realities and can quickly find their way in a demanding situation. This is precisely the plan that Grzegorz Mokre’s involvement fits into.

Grzegorz Mokry joins the Cracovia staff

The new staff member did not remain unemployed for long. At the beginning of the year, Legia Warszawa announced the end of cooperation with Grzegorz Mokry and Arkadiusz Malarz. It was a time of changes at Łazienkowska Street, when Marek Papszun was already introducing his own changes to the club. For Mokre, this meant closing the stage in one of the largest clubs in the country, but at the same time it opened the way to a quick return to work.

In the Warsaw club, the 41-year-old served as an assistant from June 2024 to January 2026. During this time, he cooperated with Gonçalo Feio and Edward Iordănescu, thanks to which he gained further high-level experience. Cracovia apparently decided that such a profile could prove very useful at the end of the season, when not only the idea for the team is important, but also the ability to work under pressure.

The former Legia coach is to help in the fight for relegation

In an official statement, the club emphasized that Mokry brings knowledge and good knowledge of Polish football to the staff. This element is to provide important support for Bartosz Grzelak and the rest of the training team. Cracovia hopes that the new coach’s experience will translate into better preparation of the team for decisive matches and help stabilize the situation at a difficult moment in the season.

This is not a trainer who only knows the role of an assistant. In the past, he managed Wigry Suwałki, Miedź Legnica and Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała on his own. Thanks to this, he can look at the work on the staff from a broader perspective, because he knows the realities of the team’s functioning also as the first coach. He will have to wait for another such opportunity, but he is expected to play an important role in Krakow now.

Cracovia is expanding Bartosz Grzelak’s staff

The addition of Mokre shows that Cracovia wants to act comprehensively. The club is not limited to a single change on the bench, but is building a broader base around Bartosz Grzelak. This is important because the new coach took over the team at a very demanding moment and needs people who will quickly help him enter the league reality.

Mokry will not be the only new name in this group. Grzelak will also be supported by Patric Jildefalk, which means that the Krakow club is focusing on an extensive staff and a clear division of competences. In practice, this is intended to help not only in the current fight for survival, but also to better organize the team’s everyday work.
