Raków Częstochowa did not wait long after the defeat at the PGE Narodowy. The club announced the end of cooperation with Łukasz Tomczyk, although it emphasizes that this decision was not made solely under the influence of the lost Polish Cup final. In Częstochowa, it was decided that the team needed a new impulse for the last weeks of the season.

Łukasz Tomczyk leaves Raków Częstochowa

Raków Częstochowa lost to Górnik Zabrze 0-2 in the Polish Cup final, and shortly afterwards the club announced its separation from Łukasz Tomczyk. It was a painful evening for the “Medalika” fans, because the team not only lost their chance to win the trophy, but also were unable to show arguments that would change the fate of the match.

However, the Raków authorities emphasize that dismissal is not a simple reaction to one result. The club assessed the entire work of the coach and concluded that the current formula of cooperation had exhausted itself. The team needs fresh stimulus, especially since the league season is still not over and the fight for European cups remains open.

Tomczyk leaves when Raków is in fifth place in the Ekstraklasa table. After 30 rounds, the Częstochowa team has 46 points, which does not eliminate their chances for a high position, but at the same time the result is below the expectations of the club, which in recent years has accustomed its fans to fighting for the highest goals.
