Welcoming the global fanbase
These drastic logistical adjustments arrive just in time for the highly anticipated Round of 32 showdown between the Netherlands and Morocco at the Estadio Monterrey.
The state is bracing for an unprecedented logistical challenge. The governor’s office confirmed that at least 15000 traveling Dutch supporters, famous for turning host cities into a vibrant bouncing sea of orange, are expected to descend upon the region. They will be met by thousands of passionate Moroccan fans ready to back the Atlas Lions.
A nationwide strategy
To further ease the strain on local infrastructure, authorities strongly urged private businesses to adopt flexible hours or enforce remote work protocols during the matchday.
This aggressive approach to traffic management is not an isolated incident. Similar preventative measures are already successfully operating in Guadalajara and Mexico City ensuring that the sheer volume of global tourists does not cripple daily life in the host cities.
