Legia Warszawa continues to organize its personnel before the new season. The capital club announced further separations from players from the academy. This time, two midfielders say goodbye to Łazienkowska – Jakub Adkonis and Igor Strzałek. Both were considered players with potential, but in the end they were unable to permanently win a place in the first team of “Military”.

Jakub Adkonis leaves Legia after years of training

One of the players who officially ends their adventure with Legia is Jakub Adkonis. The 19-year-old midfielder was one of the players the club looked at with high hopes. The Polish U-19 representative went through subsequent stages of training at the capital club’s academy and was perceived as one of the most interesting players of his age.

Adkonis had the opportunity to gain his first experience in senior football also in the colors of Legia’s first team. He made two appearances, but they were only episodes that did not translate into a permanent place in the first team squad.

He spent last season on loan at Pogoń Grodzisk Mazowiecki. This move was intended to help him play regularly and accelerate his development. He played 31 games for the first league team, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

Although the numbers are not impressive, regular minutes in senior football allowed him to gain valuable experience. According to media reports, his future may still be connected with Ekstraklasa. Korona Kielce is close to signing the midfielder, as they see him as a player with the potential for further development.

Igor Strzałek also finishes the stage at Łazienkowska

The second player who officially leaves Legia is Igor Strzałek. In his case, we are talking about a slightly older and more experienced player at the senior level.

The 22-year-old midfielder played on loan at Bruk-Beta Termalice Nieciecza in the last two seasons. First, he competed with the “Elephants” at the first league level, and then he had the opportunity to also play in the Ekstraklasa.

He played for the club from Nieciecza in a total of 58 matches. During this time, he scored three goals and recorded eight assists. He was an important part of the midfield and regularly received opportunities to play.

He played 29 matches in the first team of Legia Strzałek. He recorded two goals and two assists. Despite this, he failed to convince the club’s authorities that he should remain part of the project for the next seasons.

At this point, it is not yet known where he will continue his career. However, due to his experience in the Ekstraklasa and among the elite, he should not complain about lack of interest.

Legia is carrying out an extensive cleaning of the staff

The departures of Adkonis and Strzałka are part of a larger process of change that is currently underway in Legia Warszawa. The club is clearly organizing its staff structures, especially in the area of ​​young players associated with the academy and the extensive support of the first team.

Earlier on the same day, Legia also announced the separation of Pascal Mozie and Wojciech Banasik. Everything indicates that this is not the end of outgoing movements.

The Warsaw club is facing a period of reconstruction. On the one hand, there is a fight for financial stability, on the other hand, it is necessary to prepare a team capable of competing for the highest goals in the upcoming season.

The end of an important stage for the pupils

For Adkonis and Strzałek, parting ways with Legia means closing an important chapter in their careers. They both spent many years at Łazienkowska, developing in the club’s academy and passing through subsequent levels of training.

Now they face new challenges and a chance to rebuild or further develop in other clubs. In many cases, leaving a big club turns out to be the beginning of a career at a high level, especially when the player lands in a place that guarantees regular play.

The coming weeks will show where both midfielders will play next season. One thing is certain – both Adkonis and Strzałek will want to prove that they are capable of more than they have shown so far in Legia’s colors.
