The main element of the project is the combination of sports competition with entertainment and interaction with fans.

From 2025, the Kings League ceased to be an exclusively Spanish experiment and began to function as an international league ecosystem. The competitions appeared in many regions of the world, which significantly increased their reach and prestige.

Each league operates under similar rules, but may introduce its own modifications to the regulations approved by the community.

Kings League – competition format

The Kings League format is designed to provide the maximum amount of excitement in a short period of time. The season is divided into two stages, called splits, which operate independently of each other.

Each Kings League season consists of:

• Winter Field,

• Summer Split.

Each division has its own league phase and play-offs. In the league phase, the round-robin system applies, and the order in the table is determined by the number of wins and the goal balance.

The points system is different from classic football and rewards wins in regular game time.

Points are awarded according to the following rules:

• 3 points for winning in regular time,

• 2 points for winning after penalties,

• 1 point for penalty shootout,

• 0 points for a loss in regular time.

In a 12-team league, the first team after the league stage advances directly to the semi-finals. Teams ranked 2-4 go to the second round of the play-offs, while teams ranked 5-10 start the competition from the first round of the knockout phase.

Kings League – rules of the game

Kings League introduces many rules that distinguish it significantly from traditional football. The matches are shorter, more intense and without draws, which is intended to maintain a high pace of competition throughout.

Matches are played on smaller pitches and teams consist of seven players. Each club has a roster of 12 players that remains the same throughout the split.

The basic rules of the Kings League include:

• two halves of 20 minutes each,

• no ties – in case of a tie, penalties decide,

• unlimited number of changes,

• rounds played in one day on the same ground.

Particular attention is being drawn to unusual penalty kicks, which are more like a one-on-one action than a classic shot from the eleven meters.

Special rules in the Kings League

One of the most spectacular elements of the competition are the so-called secret paperswhich each team can use once during the match. Their use can completely change the course of a meeting.

The most popular special cards are:

• Double goal – all goals scored by the team count double for 4 minutes,

• Suspension – exclusion of one rival player for 4 minutes,

• Star – the goals of the selected player count twice until the 39th minute,

• Joker – ability to copy or cancel your opponent’s card,

• An ankle – random change of game format at the end of the first half.

Furthermore, the rule applies from the 39th minute double goalswhich makes the endings of the matches extremely exciting and often leads to spectacular plot twists.

Kings League 2026 – World Championship

The second edition will take place in January 2026 Kings World Cup Nationsnamely the Kings League World Championship. The tournament will be played in Brazil on January 3–17, 2026and the final is scheduled at the stadium Allianz Parque w São Paulo.

National teams will take part in the competition, divided into five groups.
