Mariusz Pawełek returns to football in a new role several years after ending his career. Former goalkeeper known for his performances, among others. in Wisła Kraków and Śląsk Wrocław, he took the position of sports director of Unia Turza Śląska, a club that plays in the fourth level of the league. For the 44-year-old, this is the first responsible step in a strictly managerial job, but also a return to his hometown.

A rich career in the Ekstraklasa stadiums

Mariusz Pawełek for years he was one of the most recognizable goalkeepers in the Polish Ekstraklasa. He played a total of 258 matches at the highest level, in which he kept a clean sheet 99 times. These numbers are still very impressive and place him among the league’s solid professionals between posts.
